| This cover for the Symbol Yacht brochure took pre-planning and a team approach to make it look easy. Captured in the days before digital SLRs from a Bell Jet-Ranger off the coast of Newport Harbor in California. With the pilot skimming about 40 feet off the ocean in front of the 58 foot pilothouse yacht, Sherry was in the front of the helicopter on the radio to the two "captains" we had dressed in red jackets.
Megan was next to me loading film into two Mamiya-7 cameras as I hung out of the open door at the end of a harness to get "the shot." One shot out of a hundred frames... that's about normal for this type of thing in the days before the term "Photoshopped" was in the dictionary. What you see is what we got.
